Information We Collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and your email notification preference. When you submit or claim a club listing we collect the details you provide about the club, such as name, city, province, and contact information.

If you choose to complete your player profile, you may optionally add a short bio, preferred playing positions, throwing hand, and the year you started curling. This information is publicly visible on your player profile page, and you can update or remove it anytime from your account settings.

We also collect standard server and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, referrer information, pages visited, and device or performance data needed to operate, secure, and improve the site. We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare analytics tools to understand aggregate usage trends and site performance.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data. Google Analytics sets cookies on your browser. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We also use Cloudflare to deliver, secure, and monitor the site. Cloudflare may process technical request data such as IP address, browser and device details, referrer information, URL and page request details, and performance or security signals so it can provide content delivery, bot and abuse protection, and aggregate traffic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Club listing data you submit, such as name, city, website, and description, is published publicly on the directory. Player profile information you voluntarily add is also publicly visible on your player page.

Your account email address is never displayed publicly. When you join a club, your name appears in that club's member list, which is only visible to other approved members of the same club.

If you opt in to email notifications, we may store and manage your email address, name, and subscription status with trusted email service providers such as Resend so we can send and manage those messages.

We also rely on infrastructure and analytics providers such as Cloudflare to host, secure, accelerate, and monitor the site. Those providers may process technical data on our behalf to deliver their services.

Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us. When an account is deleted, personal information associated with it is permanently removed.

If you unsubscribe from optional email notifications, we update your subscription status and remove you from the related mailing list. Some account and security-related emails, such as verification codes, password resets, and important service notices, may still be sent when needed to operate your account.

Security

Passwords are hashed and never stored or transmitted in plain text. Traffic is served over HTTPS, and our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare's global network.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise those rights, please contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The last-updated date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
